SOCIAL EMOTIONAL LEARNING
& MENTAL HEALTH AWARENESS
A REGIONAL COMPARISON
Project Summary
The purpose of this website is to visualize and evaluate how Social Emotional Learning (SEL) and Mental Health Awareness are being implemented during childhood in primary schools in developing countries compared (Latin America) to developed countries (the United States and the United Kingdom).
The website will explore the correlation between SEL and Mental Health and their importance for our future as well as how political, social, and economical issues affect the implementation of both topics in primary schools.

Ariadna (Ari) is a sophomore at Tufts University studying International Relations and Civic Studies. For her fall semester schedule, she decided to take ED164 Education For Peace and Justice. The class has sparked and nurtured her passion for education and emotional well-being. She decided to do her project on this topic because during high school in Peru, she witnessed the lack of SEL and Mental Health awareness in her school and when she started her college journey she was able to compare how differently SEL and Mental Health is addressed in the United States.
